Non-Ionic Detergents Generon has teamed up with Glycon, who have developed new procedures for the preparation of ultra pure alkyl-ß-glycoside-detergents. All 'alpha'-isomers are completely removed by chromatography. All of our detergents are crystallized to greater than 99.5% purity. The re-crystallization procedure removes all side products and lipid alcohols eg: dodecanol and the final detergents are presented in a lyophilized form. There is no 'alpha'-isomer present in the Glycon detergents. The anomeric purity of the detergent is critical for the isolation and crystallization of membrane proteins
