| Ultrapure Semi-synthetic and Natural Lipid Products |  | Generon now offers high quality lipids for research use such as signal transduction modulations, liposome and micelle studies. We offer phospholipids, phosphorosphingolipids, cerebroside, phosphatidyl inositol bis-phosphate etc. Our Grade 1 classification implies that we have seen no impurities when at least 100 µg lipid has been run on a thin layer plate subsequently charred by a technique which reveals the presence of 1 µg lipid. Grade 2 products are made either by simpler methods or are batches which just fail to pass our tests as Grade 1. Lipids which are supplied in solution are dissolved in deoxygenated solvents and sealed under nitrogen in ampoules. All lipids need to be stored below -10°C. |

| Ultrapure Detergents for Protein Purifications & Crystallizations |  | Generon has teamed up with Glycon, who have developed new procedures for the preparation of ultra pure alkyl-ß-glycoside-detergents. All 'alpha'-isomers are completely removed by chromatography. All of our detergents are crystallized to greater than 99.5% purity. The re-crystallization procedure removes all side products and lipid alcohols eg: dodecanol and the final detergents are presented in a lyophilized form. There is no 'alpha'-isomer present in the Glycon detergents. The anomeric purity of the detergent is critical for the isolation and crystallization of membrane proteins |
