Glycobiology arrays

Glycobiology arrays

Glycosylation plays an important role in a wide variety of disease processes, including tumor cell metastasis, inflammation and bacterial pathogenesis. Glycosylation is the addition of sugar molecules to cellular proteins, lipids and polysaccharides as a result of co- and post-translational modification.
Modifications of glycosylation on the cell surface have been linked to many cellular diseases, including several cancers. Understanding the changes that occur in the cellular process of glycosylation of molecules may reveal new biomarkers of disease or pave the way for new drug targets.
However, detection tools for glycobiology research are currently very limited.
Taking advantage of advances in microarray technology, arrays for glycobiology can help you in your research.

Applications of arrays for glycobiology :
  • Identifying and profiling glycans in samples
  • Determine if biomarkers of interest have glycan fragments
  • Finding glycan-specific binding ligands in biological samples
